$1,675​ To a graduating female student enrolled in McNaughton High School who works towards the improvement of women's rights. She has to write an essay demonstrating her involvement in women's rights and be accepted at a University or Tech school. She must have an average of at least 70% in English A and B30, History 30, a math 30, a science 30, and 2 other 30 level classes. She also is not eligible to win the Endicott or Clandinin awards.

The Carter Lawrence Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a past or present registered Moosomin Minor Hockey Association player or official who has shown

 

- A love for the game!

- planning on attending University or Technical School in fall of current year

- entering their first year of post secondary education

- successfully completed their first semester of their first year of post secondary education

- a love of dancing and ‘Uptown Funk’ by Bruno Mars is an asset

​Students attending Maryfield School, McNaughton School or Rocanville School who
are entering the Health Care Field will be eligible to apply. Students must have the highest average as per the Department of Education awards criteria.

Once the final marks are released, the winning candidate will be informed and must complete and send in the attached application by Aug. 15.

CORNERSTONE CRUISERS SECPSD AUTOMOTIVE BURASARIES ​Deadline – May 15th

​Must apply

SECPSD who will be enrolling in a recognized college or technical training institute the following Fall (September/October) in a career in automotive, autobody, auto-mechanics, or auto-technician fields.  Must complete a bursary application and include a High School Transcript (A statement of marks can be requested at the McNaughton Office), two letters of reference attesting to their good character and automotive experience and interest, and a letter written by the student of no more than 500 words which details what has compelled them to enter the automotive field as a career.

The selected bursary recipients will be asked to attend the Annual Show 'n Shine held at Kenosee Lake, SK on the 2nd Saturday in July to receive their bursaries from the Cornerstone Cruisers Scholarship Committee. Bursary winners must bring a copy of their confirmation of enrollment from their chosen automotive post-secondary institute with them in order to receive their bursary.

CARSCADDEN AWARD (Memory of Helen Carscadden in trust of Virden Area Foundation) ​Deadline – June 20

Voted on by the McNaughton Staff. Awarded to the student that is attending a full time-post secondary and is in financial need. There is no minimum academic standing and community involvement will be taken into account.  Awarded to one graduate attending university and one graduate attending technical school.

RBC Future Launch Scholarship ​Deadline - See Application

​The RBC Future Launch Scholarship is an innovative new scholarship program for Canadian youth (ages 15 to 29) who are looking to gain new skills for the modern workforce.

Funds can be used for tuition as well as for books, tools, travel, lodging and other expenses related to the learning opportunity.  

Recipients will be selected based on their drive and excitement for lifelong learning, and on how they plan to use the funds to pursue a new learning opportunity to start, change or grow their career.

​Awarded to Moosomin and area Youth  (U19) who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to Community Sports, Community Culture, Community Parks and / or Community Recreation. This youth will have gone above and beyond the normal commitments, volunteer, athletics, performing or otherwise, and their efforts will have left a lasting influence on the Community. This award is not year specific but based on t​he individuals Jr High and High School years.

The following criteria will be required for a recipient to be award the scholarship:

 
Eligible candidates must provide proof of acceptance / enrolment into a post-secondary educational institution for a trade.
 
Eligible candidates must provide their final Grade 12 transcript (McNaughton High School will provide this to MNP on the candidates behalf).

Moosomin Rodeo Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to the student that is continuing onto post-secondary education (university / college / trade school) in the agriculture industry and, is an active volunteer in their school or community.

The applicant must write an essay on their volunteer efforts, their life in agriculture, and what they plan to do in the future with their post-secondary education. You must also include at least two references to support your volunteer work.

The successful applicant must complete one semester of post-secondary education before receiving the monetary award.

Gaia Power's Mark Bateman & Sinclair Harrison Student of the Year Award

Established in 2021 by Gaia Power founder Samit Sharma in honor of the reeve of Martin & Moosomin respectively for their pivotal role in enabling Red Lily wind power in their RM, this bursary award is presented to a Grade 12 student proceeding to a post secondary school, who in the assessment of the Principal and staff is the most deserving holistic candidate, showing the best combination of achievements in social ,environmental, academic, sports, economic need, peer collaboration and personal improvement."

To the graduating student of McNaughton High School who has at least a 70% average in English A30, B30, History 30, a math 30, a Science 30, who has acceptance at a post-secondary institution in a health care field and selection to include other scholarships.

 Dr. Metzger practiced dentistry in Moosomin from 1975 until his passing in 1994.  He raised his family here and was a strong supporter of this community. 

 

The sponsor of this award is Dr. Ken Metzger’s family.

The applicant must have parents that are ratepayers of the R.M. of Moosomin. The Scholarship is an award of $1000.00 and will be paid out upon the Municipality receiving documentation of the student’s first semester marks and confirmation that they have enrolled in their second semester.
The applicants must be entering post secondary education, being University or a technical school, immediately following the year of High school graduation.
First priority will be given to students entering the field of Agriculture or an Agriculture related technical course; if no applicants meet this criteria then Council will use their discretion to pick the successful applicant.
If the scholarship winner does not pursue post secondary education then the 2nd place winner will be eligible to receive the scholarship.
All applicants are to complete the appropriate application form and return the form, and a copy of their most recent high school marks, to the R.M. office by June 15th of each year.
This Scholarship is open to students that may attend the Moosomin or Rocanville High Schools.
The R.M. Council will pick the successful applicant at the July Council meeting each year and the winner will be presented with a certificate at their awards ceremony.

The Moosomin Thrift Store is thrilled to offer a bursary to a graduating grade 12 student of McNaughton High School. The bursary is valued at $500.00 and will be given to the student who displays an exceptional commitment to volunteer activity and community involvement. As we are a non-profit organization, we heavily emphasize the importance of volunteer work. Special consideration will be given to students who have volunteered at the Moosomin Thrift Store and Food Share. Applications will be reviewed by our Board of Directors and a recipient will be voted on. Please note that this bursary is funded by The Moosomin Thrift Store and is in no way associated with the Food Share.
